I wear a half size in shoes but I see that pole dancing shoes only come in whole sizes. Should I size up or down?

Brand new, open-toed pole dancing shoes run a bit more narrow than normal; however, once broken in, they conform to the shape of your foot and will stretch out as you wear them more and more. When purchasing any open-toed shoe, we always suggest our customers to size down; for example, if one normally wears a 7 1/2 shoe size, size down to a 7.  For closed-toed options (such as boots) we suggest sizing up. 

I own a pair of "street" shoes that have platforms like pole dancing shoes.  Can I wear these to dance in or are there any differences between pole dancing shoes and regular "street" platform shoes?

In a word, yes! Pole dancing shoes were made for, well, dancing.  The main differences between street shoes and pole shoes are as follows: the entire footbed of pole shoes are heavily cushioned, making them a lot more comfy to walk and dance in for long periods of time; there is a "swoop" on the platform of pole shoes making them easier to slide, drag and pivot on; pole shoes have a special type of rubber on the bottoms so they don't cause the dancer to slip uneccessarily; the plastic that pole shoes are made of make it easier for the dancer to stick to the pole during tricks; and finally, the heel and the platform of pole shoes are made to create an attractive arch in the foot while still making it comfortable for the dancer to wear for long periods of time.

I am new to pole dancing.  What shoe do you recommend for me?

Rock N Body is partial to pole dance shoes because of their comfort and hotness factor - that being said, new pole dancers should consider a few things when purchasing their first pair of pole shoes. We recommend purchasing a pair of shoes with an ankle strap (anything that is not a mule, which is a strapless shoe that you simply slide your foot into).  The ankle strap will help keep the shoe on your foot while walking, spinning and performing tricks. Additionally, we recommend a 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 inch heel - going higher than this will make it significantly more difficult to walk in as your center of gravity changes the higher the heel.  

Other than that, the sky's the limit!  The beauty of pole shoes is that you can go as wild and fun or as demure and simple as you like while still remaining inside a decent budget.  Good luck and have fun on your new pole journey, you're in for a great time!

I have a wide foot/narrow foot/unusual foot sizing issue. What shoe do you recommend?

What is your exchange policy?

Exchanges are accepted on unwashed, unworn, undamaged items postmarked within 7 days of initial ship date. Items may be exchanged for merchandise or store credit.
